The graduate student spring networking social is an opportunity to socialize and network with other students. This informal event is designed for students to meet other students from various departments and discuss issues that are familiar to graduate students.

Preparing for qualifying or comprehensive exams
This workshop is designed for students who are preparing to take their qualifying or comprehensive exams. As such, students are welcome to share their experiences preparing for exams.

Writing Conference Proposals
Workshop participants are strongly encouraged to bring in conference proposals they are working on so that documents can be peer reviewed. The peer review session will be prefaced with a brief discussion on how to compose an effective conference proposal.

Developing your Curriculum Vitae
This workshop will facilitate a discussion on how to compose an effective and impressive curriculum vitae. Participants are strongly encouraged to bring their vitas to the workshop to obtain feedback from other participants concerning their document.

The primary focus of this workshop is to provide an opportunity for graduate students to participate in either mock job interviews or abridged job talks with other participants.

Creating an effective conference poster
Poster conferences are an efficient way to share and facilitate discussions pertaining to research. This workshop will provide a brief tutorial on how to create an effective conference poster.

Creating Dossiers and Teaching Portfolios
Composing and presenting an effective dossier and teaching portfolio is essential prior to going on the job market. Therefore, this workshop will entail helpful advice as well as an opportunity to share works in progress.
