Residency Information

 

Mailboxes: Mailboxes are located in the fpdc Studio, room 217 Moulton Hall. Moulton Scholars are encouraged to check them regularly.

Telephones: The phone number for the MS phone is 672-1912. Instructions for checking voice mail are available in the fpdc studio, room 217, or are posted in the Moulton Scholar office.

Keys: Each Moulton Scholar may sign out a key to their office through the fpdc. If you need a key to access the building during off hours, accommodations can often be made by contacting the assistant director.

Software/Equipment:
Special software and/or hardware requests, if approved, will either be installed on Moulton Scholar office computers or on one of the fpdc Studio computers. Contact a staff member in the fpdc to receive a copy of studio equipment and
software.

Support: Moulton Scholars can receive support through various resources available in Moulton Hall and throughout the Kent State campuses. To get started with your projects, it is best to consult first with the fpdc. Other resources can be accessed through materials
available in the fpdc, participation in sponsored workshops and presentations, and collaboration with other Moulton Scholars.

Food / Coffee: Coffee, tea and a refrigerator for storage are available in the 2nd floor fpdc lounge.

Office Orientation: Each Moulton Scholar office is equipped with desks, chairs,shelf space, computers for each desk, and a shared filing cabinet, telephone and printer. All equipment in the offices is the property of Moulton Hall and the
Faculty Professional Development Center.

Program Activities: Moulton Scholars benefit from the program by receiving support for scholarly projects that incorporate the use of technology. The aim of the Moulton Scholar’s program is to increase the capacity and discrimination of the faculty member, and often their colleagues, for identifying, learning about, and using educational technology to best support student learning and development. Participants of the program are strongly encouraged to:

• Attend semester entrance and exit meetings

• Attend the Moulton Scholar welcome and alumni receptions

• Submit a semester-end project report

• Share project results with Moulton Scholars and participants’ academic unit
• Give a presentation, sponsored by the fpdc, about the Moulton Scholar
project

• Possibly participate in the Moulton Scholar application selection process

Moulton Scholar Entrance and Exit Meetings:

Entrance meeting: a meeting with fpdc staff and fellow Moulton Scholars to discuss projects and gain supportive information as well as to learn about program activities.

Exit meeting: a meeting held at the end of the semester to discuss project
accomplishments and needs, future goals, and project impact on others.

Portraits of Practice-Moulton Scholar Presentations: Held throughout the academic year, these presentations / discussions provide faculty an opportunity to share their projects and information with the KSU community.

First Friday’s: An informal discussion and information sharing event that takes place among current Moulton Scholars each first Friday of the month.

Moulton Scholar Alumni Breakfast
An event that takes place once per year where past, present, and future Moulton Scholars gather to share projects and provide ongoing support for one another.
