• To examine how to apply a range of technologies from digital storytelling, podcasting, wikis and blogs to more efficiently and effectively introduce multi-modal writing into the first-year composition program
• To provide simple, initial methodologies (matching course goals with composition theory and with specific technologies)
• To identify the best methods and software products to create multi-modal compositions
• To produce a limited number of problem-based learning modules that utilize these tools
