Albert Ingram

Albert Ingram, Faculty Associate

Albert L. Ingram, Ph.D. is Associate Professor of Instructional Technology at Kent State University , where he teaches a variety of courses in instructional design and technology. He received his Ph.D. in Educational Technology from Arizona State University in 1984. Along the way, Dr. Ingram has taught at Governors State University and Kent State University and worked at a variety of other organizations including Digital Equipment Corporation, The American College, the Software Engineering Institute, and the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Dr. Ingram is co-author of Exploring Current Issues in Educational Technology with Drew Tiene and of FrontPage 2002: An introduction to Web design for educators and trainers with Ruth Watson. He has published papers in a variety of journals, including Educational Technology , the Journal of Educational Technology Systems , Educational Technology Research and Development , the Journal of Educational Computing Research , Performance and Instruction , and Computers in the Schools.

Adrea Adolph

Andrea Adolph is the FPDC's Faculty Associate in Service-Learning. She has been a practitioner of service-learning since 1997, and as an assistant professor of English at the Stark campus has incorporated the pedagogy in composition and creative writing classrooms. She also coordinates service-learning on the Stark campus, and has worked with faculty across disciplines to develop dynamic, theoretically sound course syllabi and community partnerships.

D Dees

David M. Dees is an assistant professor in Educational Foundations at Kent State University Salem Campus. He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in educational foundations, ethics, curriculum studies, and educational psychology. His research interests include the study of teaching artistry and the development of transactional awareness in educators at all levels.

 

Hass & Takayoshi

Christina Haas & Pamela Takayoshi, Faculty Associates

Christina Haas, Associate Professor of English, Coordinator of Writing
Internships, and FPDC Faculty Associate for Undergrad Research, received her PhD in Rhetoric from Carnegie Mellon University.  As part of the Doctoral Program in Literacy, Rhetoric, and Social Practice, she specializes in  of writing technologies, workplace literacy, contemporary rhetorical theory, and research methods for the study of writing.  Currently the editor of Written Communication: An International Quarterly of Research, Theory, and Application, she has published in journals such as College Composition and Communication, Research in the Teaching of English, Computers and Composition, L2:  Studies in Language and Learning, Human Computer Interaction, Journal of Technical and Business Communication, and various edited collections.  Her current interests include the languages of new media and how the human hand is implicated in the cultural and material practices of writing.

Ken

Kenneth Cushner, Faculty Associate, International Curriculum   and Program Development

Kenneth Cushner is Professor of Education in the College and Graduate School of Education, Health and Human Services  at Kent State University, Kent, Ohio.  Dr. Cushner is author or editor of several books and articles in the field of intercultural education and training, including: Human Diversity in Education: An Integrative Approach, 6th ed. (McGraw-Hill, 2009); Human Diversity in Action: Developing Multicultural Competencies in the Classroom, 3rd edition (2006, McGraw-Hill); Beyond Tourism: A Practical Guide to Meaningful Educational Travel (Scarecrow Education, 2004); International Perspectives on Intercultural Education (1998, Lawrence Erlbaum Associates); and Intercultural Interactions: A Practical Guide, 2nd edition (with Richard Brislin, Sage Publications, 1996).  He is President of the International Academy for Intercultural Research, former Executive Director for International Affairs at Kent State, and past Director of COST the Consortium for Overseas Student Teaching.  In his spare time, Dr. Cushner enjoys music (percussion and guitar), photography and travel.  He has developed and led intercultural programs on all seven continents.
